Dragon Ball Super 76

A blast from the past as we wait for the new arc, coming February 5th – next week!

“Defeat These Terrifying Enemies! Krillin’s Fighting Spirit Returns!!”

There isn’t too much to say about this entry. It’s a pretty good look in to Krillin’s current status and it packs a lot of emotion in to his internal struggle to be a martial artist again. There are a lot of feel-good moments here to enjoy, but don’t expect Krillin jumping up to a competitive level again. If anything this feels like more a closure to his story than a new beginning, but we’ll have to see going forward how it’s handled.

Krillin has quite the storied past. He’s been killed so many times as a reason for Goku and the others to carry on and save the day, but when will he get his chance? Well, even if it is somewhat fabricated, he finally saves Goku. Of course Goku could have gone full power and annihilated everything around him, but think of poor Nimbus right there with him! So Krillin learns a valuable lesson on self-worth (despite his obvious uselessness) and his family loves him again. Now on to the real story, next episode!

Episode Score
7.8/10 (Good)

Summary: Krillin learns some valuable lessons about not letting the past get him down, and moves on to become a martial artist once again.

Extra thoughts:
EVIL BULMA! Krillin’s greatest fear.
– Goku clearly fears nothing.
– Krillin finally gets to save Goku.
– Goku is such a tool.
– I feel like their errand was for Roshi’s boner pills or something.
– The return of smooth Krillin.

Next time: “Let’s Do It, Zen-Oh Sama! The All-Universe Martial Arts Tournament!!”

Well this is what we’ve been waiting for I guess? Another tournament! Some interesting things in this preview though, including No. 17’s return, somebody is very pregnant (which seems to be Bulma!?), and the hilarious double Zen-ohs. Also, the animation looks slightly different. Is an improvement coming?
