For those in school, it’s the busy crunch of the semester. For those not, just watch more anime. You could go outside and see the super moon, but you can’t even see the Daedalus Lunar Base. (Update Nov 21: Occultic;Nine 07)
It’s a pretty busy week for me as well, with almost everything I need to do all due at once! Such is life. But anime provides a great break from the stresses of the world, from elections to assignments. A little escapism never hurt anyone, right?
In anime news this week, Miyazaki has returned from retirement again. Also check out the new Ghost in the Shell (2017) stuff down in the extras.

“The Climactic Battle! The Miraculous Power of a Relentless Warrior“
Summary: Is this the true end to Zamasu? It seems a fitting way to end his story, but that means saying goodbye to Future Trunks as well.
Zamasu really turned out to be quite the interesting villain. His motivations were conflicted an in interestingly evil way, and his lust for power was his undoing. Classic stuff. As for the Vegito fusion, it’s a lot of fun. The action is that budget-busting quality we’re always waiting for and it feels properly intense. Future Trunks gets the last laugh though, which only makes sense considering this is his arc and all.

Summary: Asuka’s drama takes center stage leading up to the performance at the station. And once again the music hits all the right notes.
Although there is a lot to be said about the Asuka drama in the full review, here I’m just going to pound in how amazing the musical moments of this series are. Those were some really badass solos.

“The Dream’s Dream”
Summary: An intriguing twist pulls the plot back in to focus.
It’s quite rare that a show can pull such a sharp turnaround from its previous episode like this one did right here. The new character is intriguing and the direction of the plot seems back on track. It doesn’t all make sense yet, but that is kind of the point of a mystery. But now it’s making us ask all the right questions, and not “why the hell am I watching this”?

Ghost in the Shell (2017)
Although I quite enjoy a lot of the original Ghost in the Shell material, I’m not a crazy fan. And trust me, there are some crazy fans – mostly not too pleased by another Hollywood adaptation of a beloved anime franchise. The strange thing that always gets me about that though is that a new version of something can never ruin the original. That original material still exists, in its exact same form, with all its merits. There should really never be any negative reaction to new versions of old things, because if you feel it won’t live up to your expectations or it will be waste of time… don’t watch it! If you feel a studio could be spending its resources better elsewhere, you either work for a production studio are far too invested in the process. Either way, here’s the new trailer!
The number one complaint is about the trailer’s music (it’s trailer music). For those super concerned, watch this video.
